Italian Government Toppled After PM Meloni Caught Dissing Pasta and Nonna on Hot Mic

Italy's Populist government collapsed today, after Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni was caught dissing pasta and her Nonna on an open microphone.
PM Meloni - Italy's first female Prime Minister - has ruled Italy since October, 2022, and is the leader of the Brothers of Italy party, a populist party with neofascist roots.
During a press event at a Rome eatery, Meloni was caught uttering the career-ending words to an American style hamburger by an open mic. She told the foreign food:
"I don't like pasta. And I don't like my Nonna. There... I said it. It feels good to get that off my chest."
Ima Rushin, the reporter who captured the audio, stumbled and dropped their gelato in their hurried panic to post the audio online. Within minutes, a crowd of angry Nonnas and their admirers stormed the Chigi Palace and ousted the PM from power.
Since October 2022, the Meloni government has weathered scandals rising from:
- fascist crackdowns
- reversing LGBTQ+ rights
- refusals to accept refugees and immigrants
- generally just being arseholes to anyone looking for basic human needs
Up until this current scandal, Meloni herself had gained immense popularity from acts like:
- kicking puppies
- spitting on poor people of colour
- mocking gay people
- sucking US President Donald J. Trump's tiny mushroom dick
When asked for comment, the leaders of the Brothers of Italy Party replied:
"It's fantastico! We were looking for an excuse to get rid of her. We are The Brothers of Italy. Not The Sisters. Not The Siblings. This party is for men only."
Elections are expected to be held in the next few years, or so.
